Tempotest Home® Cosy is the new line of high performance fabrics suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.
Thanks to the innovative Tempotest Home® Chamois fibre, Tempotest Home® Cosy fabrics are characterised by a level of softness and appearance that is very similar to natural fibre products making them ideal for indoor uses as well.
Tempotest Home® Cosy fabrics are water-repellent, oil-removable, resistant to mould, mildew, salt and UV fading.
For more than 100 years we have always set ourselves high targets for sustainability through continuous and significant investments in Research and Development. As evidence of our ongoing commitment to more sustainable production methods, we are pleased to announce that all fabrics in the TEMPOTEST HOME® collection are "PFAS FREE" (without perfluoroalkyl substances -PFAS-).
Our transition to a “PFAS FREE” finishing, which began in the second quarter of 2023, anticipates the implementation of future European restrictions that are currently being finalised under the REACH programme and are expected to be applied during 2025; restrictions that are becoming increasingly stringent in a global marketplace and have already been in place in many US states since January 1st, 2024, with many more states to follow from 1st January 2025.
The switch to a “PFAS FREE” finishing qualifies us to renew our OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification, a certificate that the prestigious international Certifying Authority is no longer issuing for fabrics containing P-Fas from July 2023 (the exact date is April 1st, 2023). Our fabrics are consequently tested by an independent laboratory for the presence of harmful substances according to strict scientific criteria that go beyond the limits established by international standards.
The transition to a "PFAS FREE" finishing does not affect the exceptional UV resistance of our fabrics, their aesthetic characteristics, while maintaining the good water repellency typical of all products in the TEMPOTEST HOME® collection. Therefore the current guarantees that accompany our products will not be subject to change.
Unfortunately, a considerable reduction in oil repellency is the consequence of a PFAS FREE finish and restoring oil repellency to pre-PFAS free finish levels will be a compelling challenge for our industry. We have therefore decided to change the term "oil repellent" to the more accurate term "oil removable", which reflects the fact that oily stains can still be easily removed from TEMPOTEST HOME® fabrics with proper washing and care.
